On behalf of Deutsche Bahn AG, Klefenz GmbH carried out an extensive threshold change on a double-track line in the Villingen-Schwenningen area. A particular challenge: Rail operations on the neighboring track could not be interrupted at any time. Each work step therefore had to be planned and carried out within tight blocking periods.
Special machines and two-way vehicles were used, which could be manoeuvred both on the track and on the construction yard. The Klefenz team coordinated material delivery, removal and installation in a tightly-scheduled process — precisely, documented and without deviating from DB requirements.
Quality assurance was carried out in accordance with Deutsche Bahn requirements, including dimensional checks, position checks and complete documentation of all installation measures. All materials used met the valid DB supplier qualifications, for which Klefenz is approved as a certified partner.
In addition to the technical design, logistics were decisive: Old thresholds had to be removed, new ones delivered on time and temporarily stored at the installation site — all within the permitted working windows. Klefenz coordinated all transports independently and ensured the availability of all equipment.
