In the Heitersheim station area, Deutsche Bahn AG commissioned Klefenz GmbH to renew a turnout system and adjacent sections of track. The measure required precise coordination between track construction and control and safety technology.
Klefenz took over the track construction components of the measure: expansion of the old switch, installation of the new switch system in accordance with DB superstructure guidelines, connection to the existing tracks and final position measurement with documentation.
The challenge in the railway station sector: Switch work often takes place in confined spaces with little space for machines and materials. At the same time, the requirements for dimensional accuracy and workmanship are particularly high.
